JTLS and Budget Based Wargaming at the ITEC 2012

April 2012

The Joint Theater Level Simulation JTLS and its use to facilitate Budget Based Wargaming ( BBW) will be discussed by Drs. R. J. Roland and K. Robertson at the ITEC ITEC 2012. They will be available for individual and/or group presentations on both Tuesday and Wednesday, 22 and 23 May. If you wish to meet with either or both please respond to this announcement for an appointment. Include both your email address and cell phone number so we may confirm a meet up place and time. We will include our Conference locations with the staffs at the 4C Strategies, CAE, NATO and MASA booths for your convenience to locate or leave messages for us.

Please contact admin@ROLANDS.com to setup an appointment with Dr. Roland or Dr. Robertson at the ITEC.

R&A Engineering Presents JTLS In Australia

March 2012

An in depth, one-week training event to provide the The Joint Warfare, Doctrine and Training Center (JWDTC) detailed knowledge of capabilities inherent in the Joint Theater Level Simulation ( JTLS) was provided by ROLANDS & ASSOCIATES Corporation ( R&A) in RAAF Williamtown, NSW, in April 2012. The detailed training included a combination of the Introduction and Basic Modeling courses for JTLS.

The training focused on learning how to use the JTLS Web Enabled Interface Program (WHIP) orders (air, ground, naval, logistics. intelligence, etc.) to manage the Simulation for training and analysis purposes. An overview of JTLS functionality and a summary of automatic and player-directed logistics operations were provided. The intelligence module algorithms, perception updating and HRU operations rounded out the presentations. Federations with JTLS and other C4I interface feeds were discussed.

The attendees were very technically oriented, motivated, and skilled. While they had little direct JTLS experience, they had all used other simulations - notably JCATS and OneSAF. Their continued use of JTLS to support the JWDTC in joint and coalition training / analysis events will be greatly enhanced as a result of this training.

Defense Expo 2012 New Dehli: The JTLS Experience

March 2012

The Joint Theater Level Simulation (JTLS) was well received by the Indian Army, Air Force and the Indian Institute for Systems Studies and Analyses, Defence Research & Development Organization, at the recent DEFEXPO 12 in New Delhi, India. Presentations and demonstrations of the Simulation were scheduled and executed throughout the Expo from 29 March through 1 April 2012. Each of the daily 30-minute presentations became 4+ hour discussions. The Indian Army and Air Force are planning extensive uses of simulations in the near future for joint and coalition training. JTLS satisfies their need for an immediate capability to conduct that training as well as supporting computer-aided exercises at the operational level, and contingency plan analysis for combat, disaster relief and humanitarian assistance.

R&A management attended the DEFEXPO as guests of CAE-Canada and CAE-India. We are cooperating in numerous collaborative and mutually rewarding efforts for simulation center installations.
